Creamy Turkey Patties

Ingredients

5 ounces ground turkey
3 tbsp seasoned dried bread crumbs
1 egg white
2 tbsp chopped onion
1 tbsp chopped fresh parsley, divided
1 garlic clove, minced
2 tsp vegetable oil
1 tbsp whipped butter
2 tsp all-purpose flour
½ cup low-fat milk (1% milk fat)
¼ cup water
1 packet instant chicken broth and seasoning mix

Method

  • In medium mixing bowl combine turkey, bread crumbs, egg white, onion, 2 tsp parsley and the garlic and mix well.

  • Shape mixture into 4 equal patties; set aside.

  • In 9-inch nonstick skillet heat oil; add patties to skillet and cook over medium heat, turning once, until browned and cooked through, about 4 minutes on each side.

  • Transfer patties to plate and set aside.

  • In same skillet melt butter; sprinkle with flour and stir quickly to combine.

  • Cook over medium-high heat, stirring constantly, for 1 minute.

  • Gradually stir in milk, water, broth mix and remaining tsp parsley.

  • Increase heat to high and cook, stirring constantly, until mixture comes to a boil.

  • Reduce heat to low and let simmer until mixture thickens, 2 to 3 minutes.

  • Return turkey patties to skillet and cook until heated through, about 2 minutes.

  • MAKES 2 SERVINGS, 2 PATTIES EACH.
