Nutmeg

Nutmeg is a classic spice that is traditionally teamed with spinach and mushrooms, and used in white sauce, meatloaf, cakes and many more recipes. Nutmeg has a warm, floral flavor.

 

Use it on doughnuts; eggnog, custard, puddings; whipped cream, ice cream; bananas, stewed fruits; spice cake, cookies, pumpkin pie; steamed and glazed carrots, cabbage, snap beans, squash, onions, sweet potatoes; meat loaf and meatballs; baked shad. For best flavor, use whole nutmeg, grating a little as needed.
