To measure solid shortening, pack it into a dry measure using a spatula. run the spatula through the shortening in the cup to make sure there are no air pockets remaining.
The easiest way to measure butter or margarine is to use a quarter-pound stick for 1/2 cup, half of a stick for 1/4 cup, or an eighth of a stick for 1 tablespoon. |
