Recipes often call for a dash of an ingredient. It is a measure of less than 1/8 teaspoon (the smallest amount you can accurately measure using standard measuring spoons). When a dash is used, it is for seasoning, and the actual amount is up to you. However, as a guide, consider a dash to be about 1/16 teaspoon. |
