You will get out of the kitchen faster if
you clean up as you cook, rather than waiting for a major kitchen
operation at the end of the meal. Wipe up counter spills as they occur.
Leave your dishwasher open so you can easily dispose of dirty utensils
and cookware. Set cooled saucepans and skillets in a sink filled with
soapy water to loosen food residues before washing and they will be
easier to clean. Fill pots that contained cereal, egg, or milk with
cold water rather than hot, and let them stand in the sink until you're
ready to wash them. They'll come clean quickly. To minimize cleanup,
sift flour over a sheet of wax paper or a paper plate rather than a
bowl. line your counter with a sheet of aluminum foil to keep it clean
while you cook. |
